I started with a camera just a few years ago and fell in love. It opens a world too hard to observe without stopping the action. Having a fondness for wildlife and the outdoors it seemed a natural fit to try my hand at wildlife photography.
Most of my images were taken near Old Fort North Carolina or The Smoky Mountains National Park. Cade's Cove and other wildlife habitats are the best places to find wildlife diversity.
My first major interest in wildlife was snakes and other reptiles. After decades of keeping snakes as pets and learning what I could I knew the mountains would be a treasure chest of reptiles. What I didn't know was how hard it is to find them in this vast wilderness ! After searching high and low I realized staying put somewhere would render me better results and it did. Black Bears, Skunks, Raccoons, White Tailed Deer plus Wild turkey were some of the first animals I worked with. Coyotes also began to grab my attention. Just recently I ran across a family of River Otters near Cade's Cove in Tennessee. Just click on any image on my home page and it will bring to one of two galleries.
